Although I am not a JW, I think that this is a great place of
refuge for those who have been molested. I was molested as a
child and I know how difficult it is just to be believed outside
an organization like the watchtower. So I am glad they have a
place to go where their cries can be justified. But I do wonder
why, when faced with the big picture of the cover ups (via WATCHTOWER
governing policies) that more people aren't questioning the validity
of the WT as the sole conduit to God on earth. . . . . Certainly
Jehovah would never allow such rules and regulations that destroy
the very lives of his lambs by such a magnitude of sin within "His
church". IF the gov. body of the WT hears from Jehovah. . . . . certainly
Jehovah would have spoken to someone in the society to FIX this
travesty LONG before now. I see from all I have read nothing
but cowardice,fear,manipulation, lies,and a TOTAL lack of concern
for the body of Christ coming from the one place that JW's place
their faith and that is the WT governing body itself. I would
run from any organization whose greater concern is for their "image" rather
than Gods people. That is NOT of Jehovah!! To me, there is a
perpetuation of the cover ups (perhaps unknowingly) through the
hearts and minds of all JW's ( affected or unaffected by this
pedophilia) by standing by and continuing to support an Organization
with such a deep deep spiritual and moral problem. I can only
assume that the policy that has been 'on the books ' so to speak,
from its inception of the organizations regulations, that's a
long time,to long. If this attitude of covering up pedophiles
were held by local public schools I wonder what the JW's would
do to stand up against them? If they follow the status quo and
cover it up ,ignore disbelieve any accusations they would then
be true to form. So if they spoke out. . . it would be hypocrisy.
This SIN is of great magnitude, as the bible says a little leaven
spoils the whole lump. . . . In my opinion the Watchtower Organization
has cultivated so much leaven (sin) that the organization's claim
to being Jehovah's organization on earth no longer has credibility.
Only someone who is fearful can continue to support this organization,
only those who have been told that if they leave they turn their
backs on Jehovah. Well that's NOT what the bible teaches me. All
those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved! There
are no denominations in the Kingdom of God. Its not so much ,the
trusting people who have followed the WT that have literally
sinned . . . . but the so called "tenders of the flock" . . . . they
are the very ones who have lied ,deceived and critically harmed
all involved by their actions,or lack their of. Those who fit
that category will have to stand before Jehovah one day and explain
exactly why they allowed His precious lambs to be harmed/sinned
against and then did nothing. . . . all in HIS NAME. May God have
mercy on them.

Hello,
I was raised as a JW and as a child growing up I seen the potential
for child abuse. I remember when I was a young boy, a good elder
in the congregation would take advantage of me while giving me
music lessons. I never reported the incidents but have heard
stories now about how he did the same thing to others in the
congregation.
My sons tell me about his buddies dad that was abusing his own
children for 20 years. He is now in jail but it makes you wonder
if the elders were aware of the problem after it had going on
in the congregation for so many years. I know first hand by my
own experience with them how arrogant they are when dealing with
potential emotional situations, that requires a professional
counseling. I was going through some very trying emotional problems
about seven years ago. I could have been suicidal but their response
at the time was to disfellowship me. They do not believe in seeking
outside counseling on such potentially harmfully situations for
their members. Their attitude is always either you listen to
us or tough luck to you.
All the best in your lawsuits, it will be an up hill battle
for you.

We were disfellowshipped in 1988 for questioning org theology.
We never knew about this horrific cover up. We only thought
institutions such as R/C would make way for such behaviour.
I am stunned
about the two (2) witnesses. Of course thy would take
someone along!!!!
You are a worthwhile person doing a wonderful service.

I was raised a JW, and I was abused mentally, and sexually.
I never spoke out, because when I did, I was labeled
a liar. It
was an downward spiral from there. I have found my peace
though, and I left the BORG when I was 13. . . it's taken
over 10 years
to rid myself of the feelings of guilt, despair, and
self hatred. I'm now a Pagan. . . I have no fear of any hereafter
despite what
I was taught. I figure, that no hell in any religion
in
the after life, will compare to the hell I've already lived
through.
As
for being destroyed in Armageddon. . . if I survived. . . eternal
life with these kind of monsters would be no paradise
for me. I wish
you luck in all your endeavors, and I hope you finally
expose them for what they are. There are no greater demons
and devils
than the ones who use their power to harm in the name of
God.

Wow! I was raised in the JW's org, and also a victim of abuse
by my grandfather, stepfather and older brother. I didn't
tell anyone, but left the JW's at 14. Horrible as the stories
are,
they do not surprise me. A male dominated supremacy,
of course they protect their own. Women are second class citizens,not
allowed the simplest of freedoms, relegated to status
of
second best.
It all goes hand in hand, does it not?

I think you are taking an active, loving approach to this problem
of "sexual-abuse" on God's little children. I can not
accept the "keep it within the organization" view that
has been handed down from the Governing body to the local elders.
Anyone who covers up such a "sin/serious wrong doing" is
just as guilty as committing the "sin/sin serious wrong doing"!

Thank-you for this amazing website. It has brought me great comfort
to know that others understand. I was raised as a JW and was
molested since I was eight by an elder. The facts you have mentioned
on covering this up are one hundred percent accurate and the
life of hell it breeds for the victims is further trauma to an
already damaged mind. I have been dealing with this for 15 years
and my life as I see it well never be "normal". I recently
have been forced to make the decision to move home with my parents
who are JW's (my father an elder and my mother a regular pioneer)
and the fear of that at my age still leaves me scared to death.
People need to understand the destruction these molesters create
in the lives of those they touch. I wish most of the time that
it would have been better if he killed me after. My parents,
the elders, did nothing!! Thank-you for helping save some other

MY MOTHER WHO JUST RECENTLY WAS REUNITED WITH HER BROTHER AFTER
BEING SEPARATED FOR 27 YEARS HAS BECOME A JW. HER BROTHER
GOT HER BRAINWASHED, I MEAN INTERESTED IN IT. I WAS GIVEN

I was raised JW and recently began deprogramming my thought
process. In the 25 years I practiced I knew of several of these
happenings.
One "brother" who was an elder at the time was molesting
several early teenagers and even his own children. He was removed
and disfellowshipped when he was sent to prison for it. He now
again is an active member of the congregation and his past is
hush-hush. I cannot understand why this is kept quiet, for one
thing it is public info and furthermore in the "world" it
is posted if a known pedophile is living in the neighborhood.
I also had several male cousins who were molested by an uncle
before he became a "believer", this has been brought
to the attention of his congregation, yet he continues as an
Elder and active member, no one has been notified of his past.
To all persons who have been abused please STAY STRONG and continue
publicize this sin for the protection of all children whose parents
drag them into this believe system. As a mom I want to THANK
YOU FOR YOUR COURAGE!!!!!
