Silentlambs Participates in First-Ever International Walk in Washington DC for Child Abuse Awareness

Invite Advocates to March with Them in Washington DC

Victims of sexual abuse from silentlambs and other support groups will meet with media and legislators in
Washington DC to discuss the societal problems of child abuse. 


Kentucky Legislators along with several other senators and congressmen are invited to attend a press conference on Thursday. See enclosed letter.


April is child abuse awareness month; on April 17th, 2004, there will be a National Race to Stop the Silence in Washington DC. Over 1,000 participants are expected, we invite anyone from Kentucky to walk with silentlambs to help raise abuse awareness.

Hundreds child sex abuse victims, their families, advocates along with former Jehovah's Witness elder William H. Bowen, Calvert City, KY, national director of "silentlambs," the nations only support group for abused Jehovahs Witnesses.

Child sexual abuse is a silent epidemic, for children, adult survivors and society. There is hardly a greater crime against children. Child sexual abuse takes away their innocence and love of life and puts them in constant

We are writing to invite you to attend the first annual Race to Stop the Silence in Washington on Saturday April 17th.  We will be there along with others from the state of Kentucky to help raise child abuse awareness.  If you have any questions you might wish to review the website at  We are participating in the 5k walk with silentlambs ( 877-WTABUSE) a Kentucky based organization that for the last three years has advocated the protection of children.  Please review the enclosed latest AP article about our organization. 


We would love to have you walk with us, over 1,000 advocates and abuse survivors that have the common interest of speaking out to protect children.  We also will be participating a  press conference on Thursday April 15 to discuss child sexual abuse as a societial problem with legislators at the National Press Club at the Morrow Room from noon-5pm.  Abuse survivors will be present and we hope your participation will be helpful to encouraging civil rights for children when it comes to the crime of abuse.
