Tomorrow in the State Superior Court of Connecticut there was supposed to be a hearing for a 42 year-old priest-perpetrator who raped a 17 year-old orphan in December 2002 who he was "counseling" after she had previously been raped by a cab driver. Father Roman Kramek admitted to the rape after his arrest. The hearing was scheduled for the perpetrator to inform the court whether he was going to accept a plea offer from the prosecutor. We were informed last night that the defense has been granted a continuance in the case, a devastating development for a young woman who has been ostracized by her community for having the strength and courage to report the rape to the police.
Please consider sending a short note of support to this "Broken Angel" who only recently contacted SNAP for the first time. It would be a big boost for the victim after returning to the court time and time again through a legal process that has offered her no direct emotional support.
