At some point after 11:30 p.m. Sunday, investigators say either the father or the mother of Jairo, Denise and Denia Meza used a knife to slash their throats.

No screams were heard by neighbors. The children's bodies were carefully laid out on two beds in the master bedroom. A combustible liquid was splashed around the room and ignited.

This is what investigators say happened at 4053 Crestview Drive late Sunday or early Monday, based on physical evidence and more than a dozen interviews with neighbors, friends and family members.

The SVT program ran another update on the Anders situation. It is interesting to note in the same congregation that Anders was in last fall a child molester was discovered. In December after the family reported the man to police over the protests of the elders he was subsequently disfellowshipped. The molester was reinstated on May 5, 2004 of a grand total of less than five months the same day he was convicted in a court of law for abuse. Just when you think they cannot sink to a lower level you can depend on the governing body to do just that. A little over a month ago an abuse survivor in Denmark came forward with a story about her abuse at a Kingdom Hall while going over questions for baptism.

We are happy to report the Denver Snap Conference was a success! The theme of the conference was "Our Truth is Our Strength." There were t-shirts highlighting this for those in attendance. It was a fitting theme as the church has discredited many of the abuse survivors with their comments. We estimate around three hundred were in attendance and the spirit was very upbeat and positive. The conference started with a Friday evening meeting of abuse survivors showing several incriminating letters from the Catholic Church showing how abuse was extensively covered up and in some cases altered to prevent the truth from coming out. It was interesting to note that the Catholic Church also has secret files that are locked away in each church to hide abuse. Some of these files have been opened by the courts and provided proof that abuse was hidden. How long before JW's have to do the same? How many child molesters are hidden in the secret JW files in each congregation?

The largest settlement ever paid in the history of Jehovah's Witnesses occurred this past October, but no news outlet has yet reported it.

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, which is the umbrella organization over 6 million Witnesses worldwide, paid the estate of Frances Coughlin $1.55 million dollars rather than let a jury decide the wrongful death lawsuit.

Frances Coughlin's surviving family sued Jehovah's Witnesses, also known as the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, in State of Connecticut Superior Court at Milford (CV-00-0072183 S).

Talking about it seemed easier with Kimberlee Norris -- a woman, a lawyer, someone with whom they could entrust their deepest confidences, their fragile psyches.

Norris recounts that the two prospective clients told her strikingly similar s tori es of betrayal: Both women alleged that, as minors, they were members of the same Jehovah's Witnesses (JW) church when each was sexually assaulted by a different male congregant. After each reported the incident to church elders, as members are instructed to do to help cleanse the church of "sin," these lay ministers initiated an investigation. But these investigations, which applied an Old Testament burden of proof, enabled the same result -- the alleged perpetrator was protected, and the victim not believed. In fact, the women said elders told them that if they repeated the allegations to church members or secular authorities, they risked possible "disfellowshipping" -- excommunication from the church and God.

Through many years it has been standard procedure that the elders immediately contact the Branch Office when cases of child abuse arise. In this way we always assure that the right guidelines are followed in these relatively rare cases. We will continue to follow this procedure.

Sexual abuse of children is an outrageous perversity and all such accusations should be taken seriously. The results of such abuse are far-reaching. Many victims will not recover completely until Jehovah makes all things new in the new world. The Watchtower gives a clear explanation of our view – a person that abuses children is a rapist and is to be viewed as such. In a secret letter to the local leaders all over Denmark Jehovah's Witnesses top leaders enforced the rule that sexual abuse of children which surface many years later are to be killed by silence. In the secret letter, a so-called “action plan” from May 2003 advised the local elders in the 200 congregations across the country on how to handle cases of sexual abuse of children.

Jehovah's Witnesses put their reputation above the Law. This claim is made by Kristian Molbo, chairman of a support group for former members of Jehovah's Witnesses. In this capacity he repeatedly sees how the Witnesses out of fear for their reputation hide and cover up violence as well as child abuse to appear clean and spotless without any criminal elements. “It doesn’t look good if an organization which claims to be chosen by God has problems with violence, crime and incest,” says Kristian Molbo.

The P rime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen is looking into the case about the secretive sect of Jehovah's Witnesses that has been described in articles of the Ekstra Bladet last week. This also is the opinion of the General Secretary of “Save the Children” which was shaken by the headlines in Ekstra Bladet s tori es when two women stepped forward and told how they were sexually molested by members of the sect.

Annette was just 13 when she at one of Jehovah's Witnesses summer assemblies was raped by a 20 year old Jehovah's Witness. The rapist, a man she knew, was the son of one of the elders in this sick cult.

For a three year period, the little girl had to put up with sexual advances when the family visited grandpa and grandma. In January she put a stop to it. Twenty-three year old Miriam Poulsen has during her 22 years as a Jehovah's Witnesses experienced five cases of sexual abuse against under age girl friends.

A ten year old girl in Trige by Aarhus was abused for a longer period by her own grandfather, who is one of the congregations so called elders.
