A former Jehovah's Witness minister from Melbourne was formally charged with the murder of his wife when he faced a Fiji court today.

The hearing for Simon Macartney, 34, had been expected to be heard later this week but went ahead this afternoon.

Macartney appeared briefly in the Suva Magistrates Court, where a judge remanded him in custody before formally adjourning the hearing until Thursday.

There are more disturbing details in the killing of a 12-year-old girl. A police report says nothing seemed wrong Wednesday when Gloria Redman stayed home from school, sick, under her father's care.

Her mother left for the store, the father stayed, watching a religious program on television. When she returned, her daughter was dead.

WEST CHESTER — The judge overseeing the case of killer Richard Greist has ordered him re-committed to Norristown State Hospital for another year, and

made no changes in the off-ground privileges that he now enjoys.

But Judge Edward Griffith also had some harsh words for Greist, who was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 1980 for the death of his wife, Janice, and attacks on his family. Griffith said Greist continues to see his release from Norristown as the primary mission of his work with doctors, rather than to completely engage in the psychiatric therapy that would improve his condition.

The facts show that one lawsuit was settled in the summer of 2006. The balance of "sixteen" were settled in the spring of 2007 for larger dollar amounts. For the sake of accuracy Silentlambs reported sixteen settlements that were related to the major litigation finalized in recent months. This was the documentation provided on the Silentlambs website in May of 2007. Due to Silentlambs providing this material certain individuals were then given the key to accumulate thousands of pages of court documents related to the cases.

Found guilty in December 2006 of acts of sexual abuse of a minor – acts which took place between 1985 and 1992 – Marcel Simonin, 67 years old, formerly an Elder among the Jehovah’s Witnesses of Châteauguay at the time of the crimes, has been sentenced to serve nine months in prison. He will serve the sentence in the community.

51-year-old Rigoberto Flores is facing 3 Felony counts to include sexual assault, sexual conduct with a minor, and child molestation.

According to Buckeye Lt. Larry Hall, “He admitted to be involved with sexually with this 8 year old.”

Police say the family of the little girl and Flores’ family were friends.

I started studying with Jehovah's Witnesses when I was only seventeen years old. My parents were quite opposed to this, as they thought that it was a cult, and to my surprise six years later, I realize that it is.

I was a very enthusiastic young witness, always wanting to do the right thing. I was prepared to make any sacrifice that I had to in order to please Jehovah God, and I did. I lost all of my childhood friends, but felt that I had gained new ones in the Kingdom Hall.

In 1988 a letter was sent to all congregations in Canada advising elders that all cases of abuse must be reported to police. When confronted by the Canadian television program ”Fifth Estate” in 2003, Watchtower Officials cited this letter as proof that allegations of abuse are immediately reported to police. In that program former home office members reported that cases were routinely not reported when elders were required to call the legal department and report abuse allegations.

Former Brother Souter is apparently at it again. He was caught with a supply of child porn and faces new convictions for three more boys that he molested. It is estimated that as a Jehovah’s Witness Souter molested over 40 children. His victims continue to come forward.

The weather was perfect and the members of the Saint Benedicts Catholic Church in Evansville were cordial. On Sunday September 2, 2007 seven advocates from SNAP and Silentlambs arrived to leaflet to members of the Saint Benedicts Church. The reason was that recently it had been disclosed that there were at least eleven victims of a now deceased Priest that had been identified by the Bishop. The leaflets stated the following:

Recently the UK press has reported that Michael Porter was convicted as a child molester with a long history of molesting little boys. Porter’s crimes included the molestation of an eighteen month old baby. In a recent sentencing hearing Porter was given no jail time for his crimes that involved thirteen children over several years. The public, media, and even Porter’s sister expressed outrage at the light reprimand while his fellow Jehovah’s Witnesses remained steadfast in their support of “Pedophile Porter”. Elders from the Mill Hill congregation assured media that Porter would be “supervised” as he attended meetings and door to door ministry to offer bibles studies with families.
