PHOENIX - A church elder in Phoenix is accused of public sexual indecency - involving an incident with a 14-year-old boy 30 years ago.

They apparently met through the Madison Park Congregation Church near 16th Street and Earll Drive.

63-year-old David Nelson was arrested at his home Wednesday night. He's charged with sexual conduct with a minor, molestation of a child and public sexual indecency.

Jonathan Perfetto of Concord, NH, wants his rights. Of course he joins an interesting group of people from NH who demand their religious rights on a regular basis. Take for example Paul Berry, he along with church financial backing and lawyers successfully demanded his religious right to privacy when it came to disclosing the sexual molestation of his second daughter. You see he was already convicted for 56 years for molesting his first daughter. Yet his religious rights argued by church attorneys protected him from a second conviction. Another man, Gregory Blackstock, also in NH, avoided additional convictions when this same church argued for the rights of their elders to have ‘ecclesial privilege’ and thus not be required to disclose his confession of molesting multiple children. This same group argued for their right to not display the license tag motto, "Live free or die”, for the state of NH as they stated the state motto offended their religious freedom. In that case the simple absurdity of the argument did not allow them to prevail.

A few years back Silentlambs reported on a UK Child molester named Michael Porter. Porter molested at least 24 children including an 18 month old baby. WASHINGTON – U.S. Marshals in Southern California are more determined than ever to bring Frederick McLean to justice. McLean, an alleged sexual predator, is on the run and U.S. Marshals believe his crimes are so heinous they earned him a spot on the Marshals’ 15 Most Wanted fugitive list in 2006.

“This fugitive has evaded capture for nearly three years, but he needs to know that we will never cease our efforts of hunting him down,” said George W. Venables, United States Marshal for the Southern District of California. “We are absolutely resolute in our commitment to bringing in Frederick McLean to face the charges brought against him.”

NAPLES — A former Golden Gate High School soccer coach charged with having sex with a student in his office, a park and her home pleaded no contest Wednesday to avoid trial — and the threat of a state prison sentence.

As potential jurors waited upstairs, Juan Manuel Cancino, 28, of Golden Gate, who also was the school’s computer technician, pleaded to two counts of having unlawful sexual activity with a minor and was adjudicated guilty by Circuit Judge Elizabeth Krier. She imposed the sentence after the mother described her loss of faith in school employees

Almost 19 years after elders of a Jehovah's Witnesses congregation learned a member of their church had groped and fondled two adolescent girls, a Queen's Bench judge sentenced the man Friday to 18 months in jail.

"Even if the sexual assault did not include intercourse, in my opinion a sentence of imprisonment is necessary to denounce this type of crime upon children and deter others from committing similar acts," Justice Neil Gabrielson wrote in his decision handed down at Court of Queen's Bench.

When he was freed from prison five years ago, there was little dispute that convicted rapist Curtis Thompson was being released without participating in sex offender treatment.

CHELSEA – A Williamstown man was sentenced in Vermont District Court in Chelsea to three to 20 years in prison Wednesday for molesting and raping a female relative but not before friends and family members – who acknowledged his crime – also told the court that he was a "good man."
